ABOUT THE PRESENT ENERGY SOURCE

Coal

Coal has been used to power many industrial growth around the world. It is the power fuel of many developing countries it is also a very dirty and polluting fuel.

Oil

Oil is perhaps the second widely used fuel used by many developed and developing countries around the world after coal. The world is addicted to coal and oil and like any addiction there is a nasty side effect. This effect can be viewed openly by the pollution that both coal and oil produce. Transporting oils is a common risk which is taken by those transporting oil. When the oil tanker crashes the environment is devastated. The effect is there for everyone to see.

Gas

Gas is now becoming a widely used fuel. It is cleaner than coal and oil but it also pollutes and is dangerous to transport.

Nuclear

Nuclear energy is by far the most dangerous and complex of energy to produce. When there is an accident the whole world pays for it. Decommissioning power station is a costly venture.

Hydro
Hydro power is a clean energy source but there is a high price to pay. Building dams to hold back the water damages the environment and when there are less rain fall many dams produce less energy

Solar

When the sun stops shinning, it stops producing energy.

Wind turbine

When the wind stops it stops.

The only alternative

SPEGG

SPEGG does not use any of the following to power it:

Sun
Oil
Coal
Wind
Wood
Water
Nuclear
Gas

SPEGG uses no form of conventional energy to power it, it works by gravity and kinetic energy only.
